Area of origin: Piana Rotaliana, a corner of territory that extends from Rocchetta, the access gorge to the Val di Non, up to the Adige river on what was the old bed of the Noce stream, which since 1854 has been diverted to the south. From this derives a terrain similar to that of hills, where, under a small layer of earth, there are several meters, in various layers, of gravel, sand and pebbles carried downstream by the current of the Noce stream when in the Piana Rotaliana it flowed without embankments.
